All VoiceBox tutors have studied with Ann Miller or Dan Miller; all work in a similar and compatible way, and to the same high standards. All tutors are well qualified and experienced, and all hold enhanced DBS (formerly CRB) disclosures.

Ann Miller B.Ed. LRAM, ARCM, FISM
Ann has had a lifelong fascination with voice use in both speech and singing and holds teaching and performing diplomas in singing, and a degree in education. Her expertise in care and development of the voice is based on in-depth understanding of advances in knowledge of the working of the vocal mechanism. She works exclusively as an independent vocal coach, singing teacher and choral director; her background includes both professional singing, and teaching in mainstream education. Lessons with Ann are in Allestree.
Ann is a Fellow of The Incorporated Society of Musicians, The Association of Teachers of Singing, The British Voice Association, and The Association of British Choral Directors.
Dan Miller LRSM, ATCL, Dip ABRSM
Dan studied at the Purcell School of Music, followed by the Royal College of Music. He has also studied at English National Opera’s – The Knack, and the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. He has Estill Level two, Trinity Gold Medal in drama, and diplomas in both singing performance and choral conducting. Dan has taught for many years now, in both London and the midlands. He has performed solos in several of the country’s major venues, including the Royal Festival Hall, the Barbican Hall, and the Bridgewater Hall, as well as in many venues, particularly cathedrals, abroad. He has also featured on Radio and TV. Musical interests include directing Voices – The City of Derby Girls Choir, founding and directing VoiceMale and ChorAlchemy (formerly the Derby Youth Choir) and founded / and ran the successful Derby jazz vocals club ‘Sung Sounds Jazz’. He also sings in various choirs and spends much of his free time in composing and arranging. Dan is a member of membership ISM, BVA, AOTOS and ABCD.
Associate VoiceBox Tutors
Veronica Cotterill Dip ABRSM (Teaches in Wirksworth)
Veronica has been an associate of the VoiceBox since 2001 when she began vocal coaching under the tutelage of Ann Miller. Based in Wirksworth in the Derbyshire Dales; ‘Ronnie’ teaches both in local schools and from home and is also the driving force behind the ‘Kirk Ireton Singers’. She also sings with Derby City Singers. When not singing, looking after her four children and tending her garden, Ronnie enjoys performing with, and choreographing for, Appalachian tap dancers ‘Soled Out”; and playing the saxophone and clarinet in local soul outfit ‘The Wam Bam Band’.
Tracey Lockhart DipRSL
Tracey has been singing for most of her life, having been coached from a very young age by her rock singer dad! She formed her first trio, Breeze, in her teens and went on to perform in several rock/pop covers bands in the Nottingham and Derby area, currently singing lead vocals in seven-piece corporate function band ‘The Flames’. With a background in performing arts, Tracey is a budding thespian who also MDs for three local amateur dramatics societies. A member of AOTOS, Tracey is very happy to be working as part of VoiceBox teaching team, specialising in rock, pop, soul and musical theatre.
Alice Hardy Fraser
Alice is a mezzo soprano and graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University with an upper second class honours Bachelor of Arts degree in classical music in 2013. After teaching part time whilst continuing her vocal studies, Alice has been teaching the voice full time since early 2015, specialising in musical theatre and classical. Alongside teaching, Alice also loves performing regularly as a soloist and as part of a theatre group in Sheffield.
Alex enjoys singing a variety of genres, but has a special passion for Lieder and musical theatre. He currently sings with the Derwent Singers and Derby City Singers as a 1st bass, and has sung in a number of operatic and musical theatre productions from Puccini’s La Rondine for OperaCoast, to Songs for A New World by Jason Robert Brown.
